Today, I will write a response essay to Adora Svitak's TED video.(Click for link)
In this video, Adora Svitak is saying that adults can learn from children. She disagrees about saying that children are childish, putting restriction to children, and underestimating children's abilities. I totally agree to her arguments. Because children do have good abilities, children should not be oppressed and discriminated. Children will make the world better.
The first thing that I agree with her is that children do have good abilities. Children can lack power, but this is becoming a wrong story. Nowadays some children are even stronger than their parents in real power! Some children can win arm wrestling with their parents. Also, children have a lot of creativity, which adults lack. Like Adora's experience with Takoma Glass Museum, children have creativity. In my case, children think of more brilliant thoughts while playing, doing conference, and so on. They make new words and new games they can play!
Another thing I agree with her is that children should not be oppressed and discriminated. Children get oppressed by rules AND laws, but adults just get oppressed by laws. For example, children are told not to run, but adults run a lot! Although adults can get some oppression by rules, children have more restrictions. Adults say that it is because children are childish and too dangerous. However, like in Adora's presentation, age doesn't matter. The thought of a person matters. So, it's not a good way to discriminate especially children. Adults are human, and so are children!
The last thing I agree with her is that children will make the world better. The world is going to be better and better. To be specific, children have expectations for a better life, so they will try to do it. Also, they have creativity and no limitations, so when adults don't oppress children's abilities, children will do a great job in making a better world.
For these reasons, I agree with Adora Svitak's argument, which is, 'adults can learn from children.' Adults and children do good things in different ways, so if children learn from adults and adults learn from children, wouldn't the world become better for now, and more better for the future?
Children > Adults in many ways.(ex. U & I, Daddy)
답글삭제Your response is very well structured. This makes it easy to understand and clear to see what you are writing about. Well done.
답글삭제In your second paragraph you write that some children are stronger than their parents. What do you mean by this? You should explain it more deeply.
In your third paragraph, believe me, adults are more oppressed by rules than by laws, just like children!
I'm glad that you think the world is getting better and better, but remember, we have to work to make it better.
